This kid had his 8th birthday a few days ago! We love him so much! I have no idea how his mind works but it's truly an amazing thing! He checked out a book from the school library about Botulism and then read it as bedtime reading. He finished the whole thing too. His teacher usually restricts the class to certain areas of the library as to not overwhelm them with books above their reading level. She allows Joshua to wander wherever he wants because of his "unique" interests. Joshua is constantly calculating some number in his mind. He sees mathematical relationships everywhere. As a math teacher, I love it! As a mom, it hurts my brain sometimes. He loves codes, breaking and making them. He is constantly asking questions and I think that's his gift. He is really a sweet kid and gets upset when we have to kill an ant! We saw an injured bird by our car and it was quite traumatic for him. Luckily, the bird came to it when I attempted to move it to a safe place. Joshua still loves video games. He loves legos, stuffed animals, or anything cute. He loves board/card games and is quite competitive. He is very thoughtful. When asked if he wanted to be baptized, we were a little surprised that he was hesitant. He wanted to be sure that he was ready, he understood the importance of the opportunity and didn't want to treat it lightly. I'm excited to see what'll he'll be like when he's older! We love you dude!
